I'm in my early 30s and was considering getting an MBA or law school until I looked at the prices. The prices have a whole new meaning to me at this age because I don't see a loan that I don't have to worry about for years - I see a lifetime of savings for a piece of paper, the first one of which I got (my undergrad) has done extremely little for me. Law school in my state (WA) would be a minimum of $250k plus the loss of three years of wages - a total loss of half a million dollars. All because I thought it would be cool to be a public defender, which makes.... $50k a year. A third of what I'm making now without a law degree. The economics of school these days makes zero sense. Thank god I was really only out of pocket $13k for my undergrad all said and done.

It makes perfect sense if your intent is to keep poors from being lawyers.
