The sad fact of the matter is reactionary politics is the natural state of man, and without a viscous controlling hand to keep them from falling prey to such assholery most people are gonna be reactionaries because nothing gets people off more than seeing people they dislike suffer
That is a product of our material conditions, human nature is cooperative and collaborative or we never would have invented civilization as we know it. For the vast majority of our existence as recognizably human we have acted in the interest of the group and not the individual, reactionary sadistic politics is a relatively recent development.
