Apple bought the rights. The thing is they actually got them really cheap because no one else really bid. Netflix put in a "token bid" but the broadcast networks didn't bother because they never gave a fuck about "tradition"
Apple are letting everyone watch the specials for free on special weekends to try and quell the controversy anyway.
But Apple’s gonna let people stream it for free. I mean I guess it sucks if you don’t have a streaming device or computer, but you gotta figure that’s a pretty small minority of people.
