    Cmon man.

Seriously, if you have been paying any amount of attention for the past 5 years and support trump enough to attend a rally in sub zero temperatures, you've made a conscious choice that goes beyond where you live. I don't feel bad for them, and they are probably still proud supporters even after this.

    Fuck em.

That's not how people work, though.

Most people don't have a coherent worldview, and emotions usually take precedence over logic.

Again, I ain't gonna try to reach them.

If they haven't changed their ways by now, sure, okay.

But if there's ever any sort of revolution, we're gonna have to do something with roughly half the country.

      And "fuck em" ain't it.

Half the country aren't rally going trump supporters; that's maybe 30% at max. I understand the economic side of this for them and we have some answers, and sympathy for that situation. I'm saying I don't have sympathy for these people in this situation, because I'm just fresh out of fucks for people who willingly put themselves in danger for this man and what he stands for. Especially when people are starving, dying, and drowning in debt due in part to his actions. So again, fuck the people in those fields. I hope they live, and I hope they have the capacity for self reflection. But I doubt it.

          Fair.

I'm not really trying to be all golden rule here, or whatever.

Just, more like, fascism is basically a huge cult, and victims can (and often do) also become oppressors.

I'm still enjoying a bit of schadenfreude, I'll admit. I just also hope none of them actually die.

I think you're both right about this, but I've had elderly relatives with terribly fashy political views and I don't get schaudenfreud from propaganda-brained old people getting hurt, even if they "had it coming."

Yeah, I have schadenfreude from their inconvenience, combined with worry that some of the disoriented ones might die or suffer long term effects, FWIW.

I'm not quite in a liberal enclave. When I actually get off my ass and organize, there's a lot of chuds around. I have to find common ground in a way. Be clear about what I am, what I'm not. Some of them might one day try to physically hurt me or a comrade, that's definitely a possibility. But at the same time, they're everywhere.

So, I guess it gives a different outlook than when someone lives in a heavy blue enclave, and doesn't have to deal with a fucking coal rolling Trump Pickup caravan twice a week.
