I wonder how many of these morons have literally died for trump at this point.

Is there a better metaphor for modern politics than a billionaire gathering the masses to cheer for him & promise their votes, then jumping on a private plane and leaving them with no supplies to die in the cold?

Antifa/BLM radical Left protestors built a weather machine to create cold winds to kill elderly Trump supporters

I'm sure this is sarcastic but: altered mental status is the clinical term for disorientation. It means they had trouble naming the date, time, place, or situation or could not give accurate information about themselves.

How people "choose" to politically affiliate seems to be very intertwined with where they live, so while I'm not going to twist myself in knots figuring out how to reach them, or anything, my materialist self can't really write them off completely either.

          Cmon man.

Seriously, if you have been paying any amount of attention for the past 5 years and support trump enough to attend a rally in sub zero temperatures, you've made a conscious choice that goes beyond where you live. I don't feel bad for them, and they are probably still proud supporters even after this.

          Fuck em.

That's not how people work, though.

Most people don't have a coherent worldview, and emotions usually take precedence over logic.

Again, I ain't gonna try to reach them.

If they haven't changed their ways by now, sure, okay.

But if there's ever any sort of revolution, we're gonna have to do something with roughly half the country.

            And "fuck em" ain't it.

Half the country aren't rally going trump supporters; that's maybe 30% at max. I understand the economic side of this for them and we have some answers, and sympathy for that situation. I'm saying I don't have sympathy for these people in this situation, because I'm just fresh out of fucks for people who willingly put themselves in danger for this man and what he stands for. Especially when people are starving, dying, and drowning in debt due in part to his actions. So again, fuck the people in those fields. I hope they live, and I hope they have the capacity for self reflection. But I doubt it.

                Fair.

I'm not really trying to be all golden rule here, or whatever.

Just, more like, fascism is basically a huge cult, and victims can (and often do) also become oppressors.

I'm still enjoying a bit of schadenfreude, I'll admit. I just also hope none of them actually die.

I think you're both right about this, but I've had elderly relatives with terribly fashy political views and I don't get schaudenfreud from propaganda-brained old people getting hurt, even if they "had it coming."

This isn't about mere political affiliation. They got in their car and drove to a rally. Nothing about that is as passive as you are trying to make it seem.

People get into their cars to drive to cult meetings, what's your point?

This is a major issue I have with the modern left:

Laughs at the idea of the economic logical actor.

Believes in the idea of the political logical actor.

My great aunt (I think? Grandmas sister) lives in US and loves Trump. I never talk politics with her because theres no fucking point with some old lady relative I never see. But anyway she is basically just a sweet old lady, I'm sure shes got some wild opinions rattling around in there but still the thought of her freezing to death cos these cunts wouldn't pay for proper transport makes me sad.

I have family like this, and at this point I'm just resigned. If they end up dying for their psychotic beliefs, fine. It's probably the best possible outcome for them. I can't change it.

Yeah, I mean I'm having a good laugh at their expense, but being a brainless chud-lite shouldn't be a death sentence. (It should be a Nebraska Gulag Edutainment Complex sentence.)
