even the "good" anime can be borderline unwatchable when it gets weird about women. like you should turn off the show if you see a 14 year old character. capitalism has fucked up human relationships so bad over there that its destroying the culture
Eva is a good case study. Dude just wanted to make a show about how escapism is bad and all the fans do is argue over which 14 year old girl is the hottest
I need to finish that show, I got distracted like 10 episodes in and i never got back. Those characters are like actual children and the show goes out of it way to point out how fucked up their brains are. It does have sexual themes but I didnt see it as fanservice (mostly). If I remember right theres a scene where shinji sees rei naked and her face was so dead during it all that it was actual good story telling. But of course that wont stop people who bought the figures of them from being creepy as hell
It's pretty good at not being creepy yeah. The only fanservicy angles I remember involved Misato, but at least she's an adult. And you've probably been told this already, but the show gets way better after they run out of time and budget half way through
supposedly the reason it went from mild to wtf is that it was originally intended to be a kid's show, but the timeslot got moved and they made it more adult
