Why did you arbitrarily decide children can’t consent?
It’s time to stop.
I mean, he's right. Most people would agree that two 15-year-olds can consent to having sex with each other. This coupled with the obvious fact that 40-year-olds shouldn't be having sex with 15-year-olds puts a lot of strain on this whole NAP framework thing.
NAP has actually stood for “Not Allowing Pedophilia” the whole time
Oh my god someone in the thread said "hard and fast age lines are arbitrary" and they're highly upvoted :face vomiting:🤮🤮🤮
What's worse is comments like these:
Protecting children is certainly important, perhaps the most important goal imaginable.
However, the principle of giving the government extra regulatory power in an effort to "high ball rather than low ball" safety is something I would hate to see applied in other areas.
How do you miss the mark that hard?
Age of Consent laws in the US are good the way they are, all we need to do is close the religious exception for child marriage and make sure the less then three-year age gap clause is present everywhere. That being said, if you advocate anything else you'll look like a libertarian pedophile (fascist) or a religious bigot (fascist). No, teens shouldn't go to prison for sharing nudes, but an adult who gets a hold of those is definitely guilty.
What the fuck is with people in their 20s wanting to date teens anyways? Who cares if they're 18 and it's legal, that's creepy. I'm in my mid 20s and the idea of dating anyone under the age of 21 is fucking terrifying, what the hell is wrong with these people ??
This is why it’s best not to discuss.
One side is a weird American Puritanism, and the other side is literal paedophilia.
Just close the window and walk away. Do not have that discussion.
