      Being able to engage with the concept that we (as people who have benefited from the military the most and have never been on the receiving end of the barrel) are not the people who truly have the capacity to forgive veterans is not 'liberal' lol. We fundamentally are not in the position to do that and we should be able to have conversation about that without people rushing to create scenarios in which we can, and should, forgive them.

          I mean, my whole take on this is the tweet is we shouldn't extend forgiveness (which you you agree with, for similar reasons as me) and also points out that becoming a leftist doesn't undo their complicity (which I believe you agree with). But the mere mention of these points lead people in this thread to forgive troops and ignore their complicity, that's all I'm saying.

          What do with vets, or how to measure possible redemption, etc, is whole different discussion
