It might happen sooner depending on how bad the coming economic crisis is, but we've still got some time either way.

Everywhere is just stalling for time now. The permafrost is melting. Climate change is irreversible now and will accelerate far faster than anyone was predicting ten years ago.

Idiots are saying that Trump is a worse imperialist than Biden and will thus be better for third world revolutionaries. This is complete nonsense, fascist ideology spreads like a cancer and it must be killed wherever it sprouts.

If you have the privilege of leaving you should leave. Not stay around to get murdered for fear that leaving would make you a bad ally.

Jesus christ nothing is collapsing, there will be some riots for a couple weeks regardless of what happens, then they will stop, and that's it. While that happens you should be a bit careful especially if you are protesting. But that is always the case. If Trump loses he will make a big stink for a while, but he will shut up and leave. Then it's gonna be a talking point next time how the dems "stole the election" or whatever the fuck. You're talking about America. The contradictions are not as potent as you think they are, most of the populace does not remotely understand civil disobedience, and the state is extremely solidified, we're talking about one of the of not the most impregnable states in the world right now. This meme where every 3 months everyone here decides the world is gonna end tomorrow and that you gotta bunker up and hope you can assemble a revolution after the apocalypse is getting tiresome.

Please don't let the media get inside your head like this. This type of fear mongering plays into the narrative that there's nothing to be done in the US and that there is more hope for... what? progress? elsewhere. There was just a thread here yesterday about other countries' false sense of superiority and how that breaks down international solidarity among the left and working class, while masking US imperialist influence on the right. For individuals, this shit is demoralizing at best and more likely paralyzing to meaningful, direct action.

Not necessarily directed at you OP, but I just need to vent a bit: I'm so tired of American exceptionalism - as if it's so special that it's exceptionally bad. The same general problems are seen everywhere, just to weaker and stronger degrees, because the same systemic causes are everywhere. Good luck finding a job in the EU if you're not a native speaker of the business' working language, especially during a recession when anti-immigrant sentiment is so strong that we also have camps on the fucking borders. So move to an English-friendly country and you might find yourself lacking access to decent quality healthcare either because it's pay-walled, simply unavailable to you, or both. Also, look at the EU as a geographic region, roughly comparable in size to the US and you'll see our covid infections rates have often been worse than the US over the past few months.

The US is both the heart of and pacemaker of our imperial capitalist problems and so it's important to pay attention to, but we need more solidarity among the left and working class in the US, not less. And we need to keep cool heads, collect ourselves, and look at these problems head-on.

If I had the means and ability, I would get out of bed right now, leave this shithole, and never look back. Too bad it's hard as fuck to move to the countries I want, especially if you are poor and unskilled in the fields they want
