    Almost everyone in Antarctica has a college degree.

    I think there are quite a lot of cooks and plumbers and IT technicians and stuff at the research bases. I'm guessing some countries sneak in some military personnel too, since they're allowed if they're officially there to support research or something. The Argentine military junta even used to fly out pregnant women to give birth at one of their bases, on the theory that it would somehow strengthen their territorial claims. Anyway it's not just scientists and penguins.

      Oh man. I forgot about Antarctica. I forgot about the claims. I forgot that the elite actually think that global warming will make it habitable and they're going to try and hold wars there to claim their slice of the only non desertified land on the planet and horde the oil under the permafrost.
