      also, if you really can't find anything good in your area, maybe start your own project. I know it's possibly more of a time suck and certainly not doable for everyone, but it would be good to at least consider! If anyone you know might be interested hit them up, and if not you could always do something alone. best of luck finding some way to get involved. I'm sure you will!

          yeah, I completely understand that! it might help to think about the issues you're passionate about and the things your good at and then brainstorm some ideas with those two things in mind. maybe you could put flyers up or something to find people. or even better just get started and you'll probably find that people reach out to you. there's plenty of resources online too if you need help with first steps. to list a few good ones: the Rebel Steps podcast and this article about affinity groups.
