Republican operatives are WAY more motivated, because they understand themselves in a broader ideological project. Democrats seem to genuinely not understand this, so they just keep hoping for another “great man” to save them from the evil conservatives.
100% true right there. Right now, the GOP is kicking Trump to the curb after he did his job getting them 3 SCOTUS justices and radically changing the courts.
They have their eye on the bigger prize - the courts. Dems on the other hand focus everything around culture and identity politics bullshit.
I'm not even sure if they consider the courts the bigger prize, but it's a guaranteed way to maintain power, even when demographics aren't going their way. Unlike the democrats, the GOP learned a lot of important lessons when they took a beating in 2008. At least I don't remember it being as much of a project before the massive beating in 2008.
