Well to be fair his climate action plan is pretty good, I just don't have any faith whatsoever that he will actually implement it in a meaningful way or take it at all seriously.

Wasn't his climate plan the worst of the Democrats? I've heard 2 things whispered.

      1. Carbon neutral by 2050 which is incredibly vacuous because A) Biden will be dead, if not in 4 years certainly in 30, no one is to be held accountable to that promise and that's not an accident B) how are they going to ensure climate change policy happens accross what 7 terms? 6 of which could be Republicans. Sounds like fucking bs to me.

Why not cut CO2 emissions by 25% in his tenure? That's attainable... Why promise something 26 years after the fucking presidency that they obviously have no control over? lol its a lie

      1. something about $2 trillion in subsidies. Which if that is even remotely true will subsidise oil companies (because I'm willing to bet they're lobbying more than Chinese solar panel companies). To persuade oil Co.'s to produce natural gas or some form of sustainable energy on the side (while providing enough cahsflow for them not to default under market conditions). If Exxon is not the first recipient on the list of sustainable grant benefactors I would eat my own dick

During the primaries yes his climate plan was pretty much non existent. After he got the nomination, however, his team realised that they had to throw the youth and Bernie wing of the party at least something of a bone, and created an actually really comprehensive and overall good/progressive climate plan.

At one point Biden/Harris silently removed the "revoke subsidies to fossil fuel companies" clause and groups like the Sunrise movement lost their shit over it, so it was put back in. That alone shows where Biden's true allegiances are though.

But you're right, but even moreso I would say that neoliberalism and capitalism is thoroughly incapable of dealing with a long term, systemic crisis like climate change. We need comprehensive plans with specific goals and deadlines for those goals and accountability when those goals are not met. But when economies function on fiscal quarters and administrations in Washington change every four years shit's much more difficult to actually get done.

Yeah Biden's going to make sure Ronald and Nancy's campaign, so that every child will say "No" to drugs by 2022 /s
