    So I remember discussing this during my undergraduate degree, and porn does not act like a pressure release valve for violent and deviant behavior. Instead it seems to normalize the behavior and make individuals more likely to act out on their fantasies.

    Another interesting thing I remember is that sterilization doesn't end violent and deviant sexual behavior either. Reoffenders who were sterilized still sought control over victims and would use toys or objects to penetrate.

      Any good reading recommendations on criminology? I've only read some introductory materials and once I got to the section on drug crime I started to doubt the accuracy of the rest of the source.

        I would look into sociological and psychological research into this, rather than criminology, because when you're a hammer, every problem is a nail. I studied it in a sexual deviance class, which was sociology. I'll see if I can scare up some material for you.
