i feel kinda paranoid about this whole thing, like is every user a wrecker? there are only a few that i know definitely aren't, but it's kinda hard to tell sometimes. i feel kinda anxious, i prolly should log off but i'd miss you guys too much.
I can definitely understand that, but I feel like these wreckers are pretty unsophistaced and will get bored as the site improves its security and builds up its userbase. If you need to take a break, do it its ok. Your comrades are waiting for you when you're comfortable coming back. It helps to check the accounts age and name because they aren't very creative and just use versions of Kerry or dumb shit like that
idk just today a wrecker passed off pretty well in the thread on the finances of the lemmy, and a lot of kerry posts from yesterday were really ingenuous / the kerries well hidden, these wreckers are definitely more sophisticated than they seem at first
if we get paranoid about it, we'll just end up doing their work for them. just relax and post and if something seems off / you feel like someone is starting shit just to start shit, tell them to post hog. it's literally what we've always done.

They are pretty obvious. Like when their first post is on the level of a 15 year old sowing discord. Or says John Kerry.
There are specific patterns that the wreckers typically follow. I know it's easy to get paranoid that serious concerns will be misinterpreted as concern trolling, but the mods and admins are trying very hard to make sure actual chapos don't get caught in the crossfire. I've raised concerns and criticized the mods several times, and I'm still here. In fact, when you raise concerns in good faith, you often get praised for your dedication to the community rather than downvoted and banned.

It’s remarkably similar to a system of democratic centralism. The people raise specific concerns or criticises specific things. The party makes adjustments in response. The people are satisfied. Rinse, repeat.
Right now the people’s primary desire is for the wreckers to stfu, and for the community to develop.

I saw the Beatnik post and am still like "what????" because I didn't post on the discord and I don't know wtf a John kerry is besides the failed presidential candidate. I have been one secretly for years, if you go back through my reddit cth post history and apply the fibonacci sequence to my posts to pick out letters it spells John Kerry over and over. This goes deeper than you think.
