I don't think it's anti intellectual to say that much of present day higher education is focused on making money. An education that is available online or at the library...
University is about class formation: networking, signaling, revealed wisdom, ethos formation, the ability to follow a multi-year narrative, stuff like that. Outside of some of the physical sciences, the material instruction is secondary.
