Actual bots should stay. As far as I'm aware there is only one actual bot at the moment, the gwordcountbot. Users pretending to be bots as a bit or whatever (like the dadbot in this post) should be banned.
I'm literally the guy that wrote it. I have it running on a raspberry pi right now at a two minute cron job interval. The source code is here: https://pastebin.com/XcK4jPEj

Nah, the gwordcountbot is a user doing a bit. Some of the responses are ridiculously high numbers that no one could have realistically achieved.
Also, let's see how long it takes to respond - @gwordcountbot @aaaaaaadjsf
@gwordcountbot @aaaaaaadjsf You gotta format it like this, but I can assure you it's not a bit
Thank you for the request, товарищ. aaaaaaadjsf has said the G-word 27 times, using its uncensored version 14 times.
I'm not convinced. That account appears to only be active in short windows, like when a user is online.

Ah, got it. I didn't know there was a way to make real bots for this site yet
Yeah you gotta use websockets, it's all in the Lemmy documentation. That said, it does appear broken right now lol
EDIT: Looks like I'm getting rate limited! @aaaaaaadjsf you have so many comments you broke the bot—I'll update my comments per page.
