They were all going to get slaughtered anyways. Long term, this damages the mink fur industry pretty bad.
On a related note, did you know that if the fan on an industrial pig pen (which holds thousands and thousands of pigs in unbelievable cruel conditions while they wait for they slaughter) is sabotaged, all the pigs will die within 30 minutes? It's fucked up, but enough of that and companies will stop insuring pig farms.
