Woke up very suddenly last night with my heart pounding, with the sensation that I had inadvertently swallowed something. Third time I have had some sort of wake-up "gasping" incident in the last few months. Scared I have sleep apnea even though I have zero risk factors, I don't even know what to do about that. I don't want to see any more doctors with the pandemic getting worse

yea that sounds like apnea. while you can't see a doctor, sleep on your side, it will help mitigate the apnea.

Thanks for the advice. I think you're right, I was wrong about the zero risk factors thing - there's a huge overlap between PTSD and sleep apnea. Ugh.

I started to get it and learned to sleep on my side and stopped having issues entirely. it's mildly annoying but at this point I'm used to it and the doctors will just want to put you on a fucking cpap and the insurance company will monitor your sleep 24/7 🙃

there's a chance it could also be acid reflux, worth also checking out
