remember seeing some trad twitter poster say getting drunk was "demonic posession as a service" and when you put it like that it seems cool but also pretty much sums up how fucking bad the bad part of alcohol can be. cutting down my drinking has been helpful even though i haven't cut it out entirely like i did with smoking.

I feel pretty good about staying on top of that stuff, but I still do the drugs (the ones I do are a bit easier on your body at least).

For real. Also fucking stretch! A few years ago I was working a kitchen job with a bunch of dudes in their 40s. All lifer service industry types. Two of them had almost drank themselves to death. Almost every one of them had serious back issues and other health troubles. It was a real wake up call. I was like "I will NOT end up like this" lol.

It took me 10 years of off-and-on quitting smoking to actually kick it. Lately, I've been doing well. Not leaving my home because of Covid has seemingly put it down for now, but a bad day and a stress urge could undo everything. And I didn't ever smoke that long or that heavily. Just try not to smoke cigarettes, it won't make you cooler, and you'll actually miss out on a lot of time with people. Especially when your friends don't smoke so you gotta step away every couple hours to smoke a cigarette, taking time to work back into whatever is going on when you return.
