PMC's will have a connection or have a job fall into their lap and think that applies across the board to everyone. i've had both instances happen to me where I've struggled for months looking for work, and also had some where i applied and was hired the next day. it's all roll of the dice.

It seems the only way around that is if you know someone who gets you an in.
