I just talked with a friend who owns a bar/diner in an extreme rural bigoted area of the country. My friend's bar regulars were talking about civil war a few weeks ago, but all of the sudden now everyone is going back to talking about sports, families, and normal holiday/hunting shit. The people that bring up Trump and politics are getting shut down for discussing politics at all. Eventually Trump's support is going to winnow down to only complete assholes who berate people in public with hot takes and conspiracy theories. Trump's support is a lot more fragile than people think. Being around a rabid Trump supporter is exhausting. They are going to end up turning off most of the GOP voter base.
