6 is my favorite main line game and I stan it really hard - but I think tactics is better personally. I legit think its the best Final Fantasy ever made.
tells a great story and all, love the art and the music, but zero exploration and there's points where if you haven't leveled your characters enough you are literally stuck with no way back. it's just not a good game.
in ffvi you overthrow the government survive nuclear war and rebuild, and in ffvii you're a bunch of hippies that overthrow the government and prevent what is the equivalent of nuclear devastation.
man squaresoft really hit it out the park with what we should have been doing for the last 30 years.
The part about getting stuck is a fair point. Most games will not allow that and I think it might have been oversight. Once you learn a bit about the battle system though the game becomes comically easy... its not nearly as difficult as it seems when you're first starting out.
The more I think about it... I think I legit have gaming PTSD from the first time Wiegraf absolutely washed my ass and I had to start over. To this day I'm still scared to do things in games in fear of hitting a dead end.

i think i only played it once for a few minutes on someones, i wanna say psp or something. i remember wsanting to get into it because of the story, but never ended up doing that.
ffvi and ffvii were wayyyyy cooler dude. tactics is probably in the top 4 though.

bingo.
When you get Cid the challenge is pretty much over. Calculate is the most overpowered skill though.

I'm probably a bit more a fan of 6, but that's pretty much entirely because of the fact I've sung "Maria and Draco" and the whole scene is awesome
Hell yeah if you haven't gotten choked up by the opera scene and call yourself a Gamer™ get out of my house.
