Damn, kinda like they thought that they'd still have a job for awhile but then something happened so they don't, and then they still need the car because america doesn't believe in public transport or sidewalks
Is it? I mean, I saw a few absolute galaxy-brain takes in there, but for the most part people seemed to agree that the Dow Jones means jack shit when it comes to people's material conditions, and that basically no one plans to go eight months without income so the cars aren't really indicative of anything. I was pleasantly surprised to see this doing my occasional scrolling-through-/r/all-as-self-harm session.
Comment section full of people blaming them for being poor because they have expensive cars.

also resale value sucks ass and selling it and buying a cheaper one is a terrible idea
"Why are all these fuckin' poors wasting their money on cars?"
"No we aren't gonna fund public transit, only smelly poor people use it!"
Americans uncomfortable that poverty is harder to ignore now.
I think you are misunderstanding the comment. The dude was saying that cars are getting more expensive signaling even well off people getting fucked

Almost like Dallas has dogshit public transportation because a bunch of rich enclaves didn't want the poor to be able to get off in their areas.
