Kubrick must have been wired a little different than you and me. Making a movie that looks 100% like a renaissance painting is mental. Not mentioning that all lighting was natural. David Lynch as well. I long suspect that he experiences reality almost LSD like. And after seeing the Netflix documentary he produced about a broken brain I don't want to believe it's not like that.
