There have been several occasions where American political figures have been completely stumped when even lightly questioned. Pretty harsh indictment on US journos.
It's that Trump was actually challenged. US journalism is absolutely dire. I think it was Bush who said that if he went into UK or Australian parliament he'd get annihilated.

The Australian accent reminds him of Rupert Murdoch, which lulls him into a false sense of security. For some reason he feeds this guy information even though he's clearly happy to report everything he says.
