I feel fuckin bad for the nurses tbh. Things are going to be apocalyptic for them for a while 😓

I honesty think this is going to be apocalyptic in the way this current spike will hit hospitals, we're already exceeding capacity. It's going to be nation wide "covid pits" where you're left to rot because you aren't the spouse of a doctor.

you’re left to rot because you aren’t the spouse of a doctor sufficiently wealthy and probably white.

I think you're totally correct, but you're being waaay too cynical about only doctor's spouses getting treated. There will still be a lot of other people who will receive medical care, they just won't be poor people. And who gives a shit about them anyway, right?

Yeah now is an extra scary time to get it. I think the spike in deaths will be even larger than the massive spike in cases. Quality of care will diminish as there aren't enough beds, nurses, and ventilators

Yeah I really have no idea why people don't get this. The virus itself isn't the biggest concern of itself, the real problems start when hospitals are overwhelmed. The whole 1% fatality rate is assuming some level of decent healthcare and that's gonna shoot up as soon as there's no real healthcare. So too are other preventable deaths not COVID related.

I dunno what it will take to get the American govt to take the threat seriously. Apparently city authorities digging mass graves didn't do it so fuck knows what will.
