Maybe use whatever style of architecture that the eventual occupants of buildings like, rather than something that some architect wowed a central planning committee with?

Also wood sequesters carbon and is a great building material, unlike concrete which has a huge carbon footprint and is also a great building material. (Also wood comes from tree farms. Deforestation is mostly agriculturally motivated.)
