They're supposed to "help you see better while it's dark out" but completely blinds the fuck out of you when you're on the receiving end.
They literally make it more dangerous to drive because of the brief moments they destroy your night vision and shit.

In the rural southern piece of shit town I live in every fucking lifted truck has these with their thin blue line flag or some half confederate flag half south carolina flag shit.
That's another thing. These headlights theoretically are supposed to be angled from the factory to tilt downward, so the cone of light is shining at the road, instead of straight forward into the vacuum of space, but many people who get lifts never fucking adjust them.
Many car models have a thumbscrew you can do it with. You don't even need a screwdriver or a wrench most of the time. It takes three fucking minutes, but people don't do it. It makes even less sense when it's a truck for off-roading with all the light bars and shit. You put like five extra lights on your truck and they flood everything with light. Shit is like the Christmas tree at Rockefeller. Just tilt the two lights that are always on down.
