Bottled water can be hundreds or thousands of times the price of tap water depending on where you live. Unless sparkling water goes for any cheaper, it's always going to be a bit of a ripoff (assuming the tap water in your area is safe to drink).
I came to like sparkling water after staying with a host family in Germany for a little bit, but for me it's just a treat.
i use a sparkling water dispenser outside my house that goes 20 liters for one euro, jsut cos normal tap water isnt that tasty at all and it's full of limestone that ruins glasses after a while

Fair enough. I grew up in a rural area in Canada, so the wellwater there is what's most familiar to me.
