I made an account with Vlad in the username, and then i made another that was related to baseball. Both under the same email. To test it further, i made another account today using the same email and had the name Sankara in it. It is already shadowbanned. Fuck reddit.

Shadowbanned, or just in need of karma?

    Go post on /r/karma4u.

Edit: also if you make a lot using the same email, things get harder for you.

If you have low karma, a lot of subs auto-remove your comments by default.

it's not that at all. When i log in as another account and try to look at my Vlad or Sankara user page, it says i dont exists or was deleted. But when I look at the baseball named one, it's still there and my one comment has an upvote. It literally feels like Vlad and Sankara triggered some automod bullshit. I just wanted to bring it up as evidence of how we can't trust some spaces anymore.

after another account creation, it seems like what really triggered it was the fact I went and followed every subreddit i had on my old account. I made a new account and didnt follow anything and they havent banned it. I used the same email ive been using too so they should know its still me.

Shadowbans are specifically set up so that it isn't inherently obvious that you've been banned. Basically you can visit subs, comment, upvote, and do all the normal stuff you would expect, but your interactions don't actually appear for everyone else who's using the platform. No one else can see your comments/replies, and your upvotes and downvotes dont change the karma on different posts/accounts. The whole point is to make it hard to tell that you've been banned so that you don't just run off and create a new account, and this makes determining whether or not you've been shadowbanned kinda tricky (that's the point after all). The best way that I think is available is just to reply to other people with questions and other such things that would invite a response. If you ask 10 people across 10 subs a simple and innocent question and no one replies to you with an answer, you've probably been shadowbanned.

go to your user profile/post history page when not logged in. If it says you don’t exist or were deleted, you’re shadowbanned.

there’s a website that will tell you if you are, but heres how to tell for yourself: go to your user profile page where you can see your posts. Then log out and try to go to the profile page again. If youre shadowbanned it will say you dont exist or were deleted.

ok so now i think it has something to do with the subreddits followed. I made a new account, under a new email, in the past couple hours. It's already shadowbanned. The baseball named one i made for local use is still fine, but I only followed local to me subs and some sports ones. I had gone through and added all the subreddits to my new one and I think they can tell and shadowban automatically for it. So basically i guess its time to have an account for posting and an account to keep my subreddits.
