At this point, virtually everyone in Hollywood is some flavor of nepo baby or failkid. Its been the only way to break into the industry in nearly a generation. Hell, our own dear sweet boy Will Menaker would qualify as a nepo, all things considered.

One reason the industry is so tightly knit and successfully organized steams from the number of professionals who all know each other so personally. And one of the deeper critiques of the evolving Hollywood model is in how these workers are being alienated from their labor and from one another.

I hate paragraphs being center aligned. It just looks so bad, especially for something that isn't a meme.

I was watching the Late Show with Letterman live when she flashed Dave her tits.

Drew was the quintessential coked up white girl. Very high energy.

She was nice in Ever After, but admittedly the costuming department was doing most of the acting there.

hey, let her do it. i bet show appreciators will enjoyment all the astute humility.

I can appreciate someone believing that doing a shitload of blow qualifies one to be an entire writers room.

Give her a chance to bring on writers and actors to talk about the strike and what they are asking for.

That would be the only acceptable way to do a show during a strike.

Conan did this during the last writers strike and people were cool with it iirc

I don't really see the issue so long as they aren't hiring scabs right?

Crossed the picket line, she is a scab. Producers get there show on air and the writers get fucked.

I think that's because they were contractually agreed at the time, since the actors weren't on strike and had a binding contract. So they spent it paying the writers strike fund from their own pockets and turning their shows into pro union platforms.

Drew does not have this excuse at all ifaik.

No, there was a technicality actors like Conan etc were still contractually obligated to perform, and the only way they could avoid the picket lines was by not using scripts. So they couldn't write anything unless they hired scabs (which Conan said they weren't going to do). Instead of hiring scabs, Conan improvised.. Conan’s writers’ strike episodes only happened because NBC pretty much forced him back on to avoid layoffs to the non-writing staff—and that only happened because Letterman’s production company reached an interim agreement with the WGA, so Dave and Craig came back fully writered-up.

The notable exception was Ellen who famously hired scabs immediately

          That’s showbiz, baby

I’m guessing there’s some contractual agreement that says they’ll take her treats if she strikes, so she protects her own self-interest instead of the greater cause.
