See, I always thought it was funny because growing up there was always some comic book villain or video game where the World Trade Center was being damaged or destroyed to make a point

Hell, I own the issue of X-Force where Juggernaut blows up the WTC and laughs about it

Yep, the special 9/11 issue of Spider-Man

Like I can see the Kingpin being upset, but fucking Dr. Doom and Magneto wouldn't give two shits

Hell, a few years after 9/11 fucking Dr. Octopus would try to boil the brains of everyone on Earth with a microwave satellite

It was a Maudlin piece of shit

Yeah, even if he was the fucking Grant Morrison version who was shoving humans into gas chambers, he would not have a given a single fuck

Like, I usually don't care much about canon, but seriously folks, stick with the characterization please!

Yeah particular events in canon, who cares - but don't shit on the whole point of a character, or a whole story, etc.

I'm so glad I was 3 when this happened and I never had to experience this insanity.

I was in middle school and got to watch the gruff gym teacher break down crying while all the kids laughed at him, it fucking ruled

Makes me think of that article talking about how kids celebrated Reagan getting shot.

Little bit before my time, but I feel like I would have definitely laughed had I heard about it as a kid

Yeah and it’s almost like comic book villains have insane and impractical schemes because bad guy

The ending of the PS1 game Spider-Man 2 had change the ending because it takes place at the top of the WTC. There was a cutscene where Thor shows up to help after you already beat Electro, but it was cut so the newspaper giving all the credit to Thor doesn't make any sense since the player never actually met Thor. I know MGS2 had to change a ton about the ending because the playable segment where you kill a bunch of Rays on top of Arsenal was supposed to be happening while Arsenal was crashing through the WTC, so instead you seem to fight the Rays in some sort of negative space.

Because they were the largest buildings in NYC. Back in like the 50s it was all about the Empire State Building
