I overheard a random person on a video introducing themselves and it was something like "Hi I'm Katie, I like whatever and I believe Jesus Christ is real". Is that just a teenager saying something weird or is that a way some people actually present or talk about their faith? Just sounded so bizarre to me.
Some of it might be teenage weirdness, but some Christians will absolutely railroad their faith into any interaction they can. I knew a guy who would give tracks (a small pamphlet about god) to every cashier.

It doesn't change the bizarreness though.
No one in America has heard about Jesus or God before, I'm sure of it!
