Roma kids were put in state-run housing up until later 1970s in the name of assimilation. Just lots of weird things in the name of "assimilation". Speaking the language was illegal too iirc. Also I've heard of Finnish Roma being put into "special needs" schooling for no real reason besides being gypsy (which happens in europe everywhere) even nowadays. Again though, Finland has done some good in terms of fighting against antiziganism. More than a lot of other countries, so could be much worse.
