My mother died of a lack of healthcare during the Obama administration. A woman who dedicated her life to educating other people's children, mostly working class POCs, while they worked. She taught dozens of disadvantaged kids how to walk, talk, read, write, count, what colors and shapes are, how to share etc. Despite being relatively poor herself, she would let daycare payments slide when the parents had problems, would sometimes keep the kids until late when their parents' bosses made them work double shifts etc. She charged 50% less than commercial daycare centers so poor folks could afford it. Dead in her 40s because she was self-employed and couldn't afford healthcare for herself for almost 20 years.

Whenever I see people say shit like this I can't help but imagine inflicting brutal violence on them. I want to give them chemo and watch their hair fall out, zap their fucking head and neck with radiation so their skin gets scaly and shriveled and they cant talk or eat anymore. Watch them gargle and gasp for their last breath like she did.

She instilled values in me that most white Americans don't have, and this experience has ensured I will always fight for liberation of all people, through torture and even death if I have to.
