No one in the community asked for this. It just seems like a couple admins wanted to do this and we’re all forced into this terrible decision.

Quite annoying and makes me want to use the site less if this is the direction we’re going.

    The reason they’re changing the name is so that people post there less because it’s a more obtuse name.

      Good thing I really hated posting on r/ChapoTrapHouse. Having to type that out was such a fucking hassle. Now I can just type on c/TrapHouse, lmfao.

        I’ve explained my problem with it and you’re reframing to your own argument. Honestly, if we come up with a new agreed upon name for main, I’m fine with the decision.

          breaking up the conversation to what the admins have decided is in the realm of topics they agree upon

          or when you said this:

            They want less people to post in main so that they in turn post in the comms because they want more activity in the comms. By having more people posting in comms it gives the admins more control over the topics talked about.

              how does it give the admins more control if people are making an individual decision about posting in !traphouse vs. other comms? in what way does that control topics?

              i've only seen an increase in the diversity of posts as more communities pop up. !gardening posts were nonexistent before the comm.

              what topics do you even think the admins are trying to limit???
