this was not framed as an ad of course, you paid for this, NPR donators
In the interview he said "I have friends who video game" and talked about the game having the essence of tabletop games or some shit? and then interviewer asked about his character, stating that she had no idea that characters in video games could have extensive backstories, like what? Am I going insane?! I get these people have never played a game or experienced joy in their lives, but like how the fuck do you think a form of media, like books and tv and movies and shit doesn't have stories and characters? Good lord, the confidence with which these people live their lives despite their complete ignorance astounds me
The utter lack of imagination is what really gets me with these neoliberal ghouls. It's absolutely absurd
Lmao that ad copy is so shit. There are actually people at NPR who play video games, they aren't all 60-yr-old crossword puzzle doers, how could they do such a bad job.
Also,
listening to NPR
I knew you were a lib, Quill :stalin-shining:
tbf its interesting to observe the propaganda for what it is, also keeps you fresh on what they're trying to manufacture consent for
I was just busting balls, I listen to them all the time. Although with the exception of On The Media, I generally discard all of their political opinions as trash.
why listen to NPR when there are so many good podcast episodes to catch up on
Because I'm a bit of a luddite/ boomer with my media and I can't be bothered to hook up my phone with aux so it's radio for me, which means its npr except when it's a pledge drive and then it's silence, cause I can't fuckin stand commercials
I did pizza delivery for years, so having to hook up my phone and unhook it every time I got back to the store was a pain, probably what started the habit/ aversion
If a comrade linked me an episode they recommend I'd be inclined to check it out, I just don't really know how to or regularly search them out
I wanna buy a radio station and just play episodes of left podcasts and history podcasts like TrueAnon, Chapo Trap House, The Dollop, and historic.ly twenty-four hours a day
If you ever do, always end the day with Solidarity Forever at midnight
capital would probably force it off the air by levying fines for obscenities when a podcast says "fuck"
For those drives home after a truly soul crushing day at w*rk
