What’s interesting though is that when an AMAB person goes on HRT their performance drops to well within the range of cis female athletes

Yep. For those unaware - studies vary on exactly how long this takes, but they all pin it at some time between 1 year and 3 years on HRT. There's a reason the olympics have allowed trans competitors as long as they've been on HRT for 4 years, yet we've never seen a trans competitor, but yet we see doping scandals every year, so clearly people will do whatever it takes to win. Most figures pin it at about 0.6% of the population is trans, so from that, we should have seen 1-2 trans competitors from Canada alone in the 2018 olympics. We saw zero. From any country.

"BUT WHAT ABOUT MY SPORTS!!!!!!" is blatant transphobic fearmongering that, while it may sound reasonable on its face, is absolutely fucking absurd the second you look into it. Transphobes are hoping you don't look into it, so they can sneak this past us and start getting a moral justification for eliminating trans people from society entirely. "Well, we already treat them differently on a legal basis in sports, what more is making laws that treat them differently in X?" is not a thing we can let happen.
