I'll laugh my ass off if it turns out to be from Italy and all the rhetoric from chuds about how the country that "created" the virus needs to pay disappears overnight. Honestly they probably just won't believe it at all. Yeah that's more likely.
This is really more about how Italy is a governance shitshow. Chuds who think this is China doing some thirty-dimensional chess genetic engineering gambit are still going to believe it. There's a less mutated version found in India and Bangladesh too, it'll be interesting to see what comes of that. Either way, it's gonna be a good excuse for Italian right-wing parties to ramp up the anti-immigrant rhetoric. The main right wing party are probably gonna have to go from having to do a coalition with the socdems to ... who knows, maybe being able to form a government with the party that crawled out of the rubble of neo-fash movements.
