I don't care about nerds fighting over "theory" and "history" I came here to see memes and twitter screenshots
Edit: ...shared by people with a minimum of empathy/humanity/whatever, that dream with a better future. I'm too stupid to pick a flavor and get mad at others.
I think one of the strong points of the old sub was how meme-posting could open the door to substantive political discussions. I think for a number of people, the sub was an introduction to somewhat coherent explanations of socialist ideas.
There's currently a massive struggle going on because America is pointing the imperialist machine at China and people are pushing for anti-imperialism. This is causing elevated struggle.
It wouldn't be happening if the machine were pointed at Bolivia for example. It's happening because of the current circumstances. I think people are right to be pushing anti-imperialism regardless of the target, if imperialism is the highest form of capitalism then anti-imperialism is the highest form of class struggle. To refuse to engage in that is to not be taking part in modern class struggle.
Yeah. Lots of "Look what this 'Anarchist' said." linking to incredibly dumb self-centered people on Twitter as if they were king of the Anarchists or something. There are a lot of dumb takes on Twitter. Lots of people who never opened a book in their life but decide they're a "socialist" or an "anarchist" because in our decrepit and worthless political system those are the only groups talking about issues of significance. Lots of baby (in the new sense) social democrats who are upset about the declining standard of living in the US but can't wrap their heads around the idea that imperialism or the world-economy has anything to do with it.
We should point out these bad takes and mock them like we always have, but we should be mocking the people responsible for these bad takes, not slapping them on entire groups of comrades who did nothing wrong. When kings had to deal with peasant revolts, they looked out for one another. Even when they were sworn enemies, they understood their power vis-à-vis their subjects relied on solidarity and mutual support in times of crisis. When the capitalists have to deal with riots and uprisings, you will never find a more tightly knit group of comrades, despite the fact that they are ordinarily in brutal competition with one another to monopolize the world. Why the fuck are we tearing each other down over fucking twitter takes? Come on, now.
If someone comes on here and does an imperialism, roast 'em. But let's not do this shit where we dig through the gutter of the internet in search of the worst takes possible and attribute them to our comrades.
Eh it's not a lot but I've seen a few people harping on the "concentration camps with millions of uighurs" and other Zenzpilled stuff. Just anecdotal tho
I think this is where people's ideas of critical support differ. For some just viewing China as a counterweight to U.S. imperialism is critical support, while others would consider critical support to be being wholly supportive of China/Xi/SwCC and just critical of cultural differences, and there's certainly more personal definitions out there. Not saying you're taking any of the listed positions of course
I've never seen anyone advocate actual war with China. Well. Except one crazy ex admiral, but still... Struggle seshes are going overboard. Yes, radlibs and anarcho-radlibs have some stupid positions, but the Tankies responses always so overblown.

I know those people, they are me
Struggle content was not uncommon on the subreddit. The struggle goes both ways.

Could you please get off your armchair and shout that from a mountaintop?
Thanks.

I don't get bad vibes, and like I said, I'm too stupid to pick any flavor
Literally the post above this is calling out all the anarchists who totally exist that are doing the CIAs bidding by hoping for war with China.
