Point: imposing value judgements (especially if enforced), weird shit like it being ok to show hundreds getting killed if there's no blood or cursing
Counterpoint: some kids are pussies (like me) and will be traumatized by gore and violence and shit
Countercounterpoint: kids need to see that violence to prepare them for revolution or something
Maybe something more akin to a list of trigger warnings, or the IMDB parents guide that just described all the acts of violence/sex and instances of cursing would be more helpful and value-neutral
Go!
Ratings are garbage.
Would rather have some knowledge beforehand regarding things like nudity, graphic sex, graphic violence, graphic gore. Something giving a warning about language, maybe (but that's more difficult to describe) and sensitive topics. Hopefully the "language" and "sensitive topics" would be telegraphed by the description of the media and its genre, (I feel with spoilers causing rage, descriptions of media have gotten more and more nonsensical.)
I've been watching foreign horror movies in public places and suddenly there were two naked women making out. Wasn't expecting it. Kinda awkward.
