    Anyways Astarion disliked that.

Baldur's Gate 3 included a That Guy character that's there just to complain about helping other people and being nice. Kind of a nice authenticity touch.

Haha to be fair that's pretty much all of them in their own ways - except Gale, who falls in love with you instantly basically provided you're a wizard and - in my experience - don't outright condemn a goblin to death.

      spoiler for like act 1

Shadowheart, after saving the Druid Camp, came up to me in camp and went "wow I never thought I'd care about refugees" and I was like "huh?? what? you haven't cared about the druids or the refugees at all throughout this entire quest. I've literally only seen Lae'zal get pissed at me for wasting time and not finding the creche" but I love her so......I can change her

That kind of mismatch thing is part of her story and pays off eventually. It's not impossible to figure out, but doesn't get explicitly revealed until Act 3 depending on your decisions.

She can also volunteer herself to turn into a squid if you've killed the emperor and freed Orpheus. This was before the announcement that there'll be new endings for her.

I knew that. In fact I call him That Guy because he was in my party and I enjoyed his That Guy energy even if he was pouting a lot about my heroism.

I still stuck up for him and even let him have a bite. He was sort of my frenemy.

That makes me think of Dragon Age: Origins. By the time I'd had Morrigan with me for like an hour I was already sick of her "why aren't you being EEEEVIL" thing

Astarion was much more bearable than Morrigan. I never got the appeal of that character. At all.
