As an audio engineer I can say that XLR cable ties are waaaay better for managing tons of wires and much easier if/when you need to rearrange them. Zip ties are annoying because you can only use them once and you have to throw them away and use a new one if you need to change stuff.
Great idea.
zip ties that you cut the ends off of are also absurdly good at murdering your hands. I've bled on so much shit because of fucking zip ties.
