Would anyone else have traded 4 years of trump and 8 years of obama for 20 years of george w bush?

Mostly agreed. W was worse than Trump because he seemed like a "normal", "civil" person to typical voters - he branded himself as a "compassionate conservative" around the same time people were starting to debate the merits of torture in Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib, because he promised to be a little more merciful to Mexican immigrants. This was the president who signed the Patriot Act and oversaw the creation of the DHS (and its children, ICE and CBP).

I shiver when I hear libs wish they could go back to having a "statesmanlike" president in power who makes them feel safe going back to brunch because those presidents are the ones who get away with the worst shit with the least scrutiny. Obama was worse than Trump and arguably as bad as, if not slightly worse than W for the same reasons. No type of president scares me more than a charismatic, competent war criminal who makes the average lib voter feel warm and fuzzy inside enough to make their critics sound like lunatics or obvious partisans. The loudest voices screaming about Benghazi were the proto-chuds associated with the Tea Party movement and so any leftists making similar criticisms of the Libyan regime change under Obama's watch sounded like kooks by association.
