The lesson here is reconnect with those you care about but haven't had the time or reason to.

    Thanks comrade o7

Got back in touch with someone like that over the summer, then the semester starting turned me into a mess and I fucked it up for good. Feels bad :(

Happy to help! I've been really inspired and passing on the love to some more distant friends I haven't been talking to because of my funk the last couple months and it feels really good. I feel like I'm cobbling together the sense of community I lost in March when the lockdown started.

Just got the rest of my work for this year done, time for over two weeks of vacation! Luckily no one in my family got the Rona, so it looks like I get to go hang out with them over christmas too.

Well... I wasn't crazy about my surgery yesterday but my casual AMA after was more fun than I expected.

However today, for the second time this week, I cooked way too much food and left most of it at the door step of my coworker because she has COVID and no support system.

My friend reached out too, and he's started organizing bigger and bigger forest raves. Once the pandemic is over he wants to bring me on as head of security, since concert security has been my job. I'd be able to pick my own team and everything; been thinking about how much consciousness could be built in an environment where the mood is fluid and electric, most people are on psychadellics, and the entire security crew is friendly communists.

Honestly as leftists we should be going after the small/medium festival crowd way more. The vast majority of these people are comrades, even if they don't know it.

That sounds really neat! How do you get involved with stuff like that? I was really peripherally involved with underground punk stuff in college but I haven't found an in since then. I'm not on social media and I tend to only make fairly normal friends via meet-cutes.

I kind of lucked into both circles through high school friends, but it seems like the best way to get tapped into the local fests otherwise is through small artists and DJs on social media (usually instagram) whose work has shroomy vibes. This next part no longer applies to those of us in the Plague Zone, but local art shows, especially ones with augmented reality stuff, are also generally full of chill people. You could also six-degrees it, and figure out which of your normal friend's friends have friends, etc.

It turns out I'm really good at photography. Like insanely good. I quite like doing it as well. I discovered this after buying an all mechanical SLR film camera from the 70s on a whim while drunk and sad.

My fam wasn’t gonna do Xmas cuz of covid, but then my parents landlord sold the house and they gotta be out by January. SO, we in fact are doing an Xmas together, me n my brothers helping pack up and move em to a place on the other side of the mountain. One of my brothers got through covid, and my youngest brother is getting married on the solstice. High weirdness and glass half full stuff, but I’m grateful that we’re all pretty ok.
