        The State and Revolution has some truly timeless passages. Even 100 years ago, social democrats were championing voting as the solution to all of life's evils.

          Lenin blows my mind with just how broad his considerations are & how razor sharp his wit is, all the while keeping the main point focused on real-life practicality & economy & utility within the writing

              yes, Lenin dunks on Lassalle without using the n-w*rd

              imo it proves something more fundamental about how Western thought is bound up historically & made useless by thinking the past is naturally obscure or impenetrable

              but the point being made as I see it is that philosophy should be a tool to help us notice iniquities & change the world, and not merely idly interpret these things. & I think even Heraclitus communicates that point where all these fancy lads since the Enlightenment can't understand it at all
