Except she's actually from China so her words have some weight.

Nerds hate her because shes a better engineer than them. What's your take on her?

Naomi Wu is honestly a pretty inspiring figure, publicly being a woman that owns her body and insane intelligence in DIY makes her braver than any troop. I don’t want to say she got me into DIY, but she’s definitely someone I really appreciate seeing in those spaces as far as women in STEM goes.

My take is her schtick is basically designed to shortcut nerd brains and remove their ability to think critically.

Sexy robot schtick! = She must be good because pp hard

Claims Vice doxxed her! = Nerds hate doxxing, so she must be good, even though her claim is real thin

Occasionally defends China! = Gives tankie nerds the excuse to be horny and ignore the rest of her crap

I thought the claim was that they used 'feminist terms' to describe her beliefs?

Annoying as hell trying to relitigate these three year old disputes.

Here's a tweet of hers that seems to disagree.

To quote: "While having a White husband is not a particularly big deal, being a vocal advocate for "foreign ideas" (gender equality) with a large platform, & "foreign handler/puppet to foreigners" is a VERY specific, and very dangerous dog whistle in Chinese they amplified 1000000x"

Also, I'd forgotten there was that weird 'her husband is actually doing the work' stuff back then, which was incredibly gross.

I mostly didn't pay attention to her for a while, i discovered her a while back saw that she was actually good at the tech she was making, but I didn't really care much for sexy wearables so I'd only be exposed to her when watching nerds get pissed off about girl being in stem.

I do like how she goes after nerds on twitter and stands her ground on most issues but can admit being wrong.

      RealSexyCyborg.

Basically known for doing a ton for open source tech, especially in the DIY realm. Also known for having absolutely giant tiddy and advocating for body acceptance and brings awareness to LGBT issues in china as well as progress being made.

She talks a lot on twitter about China, both good and bad but defends the country from people pushing mad western propaganda.

I'm bringing it up because I feel like the two spheres of influence don't cross much but I think her takes are generally good and a good perspective to be exposed to.

i just looked her up after seeing her described as body positive and he body positivity likely comes from a place similar to where rich kids find socialism. she seems like the kind of person that i will learn about whether i like it or not, so i'm gonna stop there.

Eh I worded it as body positive because it sounded better than "bimboification positive".

i wasn't trying to say anything specific about the way she looked tbh. the nicest way I can reword it is, "i've never had a problem, no one else should either."

bimbofication positive is the way to be ofc
