Holy fucking based.
Merger of left-wing parties has always been fucking near impossible, but if they manage it, we're in for a wild ride.
there is a lot of propaganda being pushed right now (media, entertainment, politics etc) to promote nationalism. This has to be a result of the rise of bjp and the worsening economic situation. a few months ago it'd seemed like nobody could counter the hindu fascist regimes, but it seems the left here isn't as dead as the liberal media makes it out to be.
india has always had revolutionary potential. the freedom struggle had huge communist/anarchist influences. because the state isn't as strong and centralised as in other countries, it hasn't been able to eradicate the left (outside of neoliberal areas of influence). but yeah, let's see what happens. the next general election is in 2024 and a lot can change by then.
the indian communist movement also partook in the nepalese civil war and were instrumental in winning it
I'm hopeful but I feel like if this starts to make any progress there's a good chance he'll be assassinated.
