"The admins of chapo.chat are going on a banning spree for all TERFs and "transphobes" based on if users downvote posts that have anything to do with being trans. I downvoted a comment that said the admins should absolutely ban people based on their voting record lol. And since I didnt have a comment/post history, I'm apparently a Nazi TERF plant sent there to make LGBTs uncomfortable with using the website in an attempt to rid them from the "leftist movement".

It's amusing that everyone there is nostalgic for Stalin and Mao, and cartoonishly voice their full support for them every fucking day, I'm sure they would have fully supported the LGBT movement. I'm never leaving stupidpol again, I love all of you nazi [r-slur]s."

Bonus: "I was unbanned. I apparently only have one downvote left that Im allowed to use. Thank you benevolent moderators of Chapo.Chat. I promise to never downvote again."

    How can you post this and think you're being a comrade? "Those stupidpol people are right, no notes"? Come on, apply some critical thinking, we've seen there really were transphobes using downvotes to harass, and this is your conclusion?

        No, it's being treated as the current issue. We can address multiple issues at once, and it just came to the attention of the mods/admin team that this issue has been building in the background for a while. Should trans issues always take second-place to other issues? When can we address them, assuming there's always multiple important issues?

        I disagree. Explain why every trans-positive post has very high downvote counts. It's a fact that this community was, as a group, systematically downvoting all trans topics. I think you're ignoring the existence of microaggressions, and degrees of behavior. Some innocuous downvotes happened, and some were a pattern of harassment. That ends now, and banning a few accounts for "reactionary voting patterns" is not some huge exile, it's the loss of a username. They can (and will) just make a new one. And hopefully, no longer create an unwelcoming atmosphere for trans comrades.

        Are you willing to scare away a few people who disproportionately downvote all trans posts, or scare away trans posters? Pick one.

        EDIT: I think the long-term solution is to remove downvotes entirely, but the short-term solution is to slap the wrist of everyone using them in a shitty way.

            I doubt that this is true. There is almost no transphobia on here. In fact, it is so little that mods have found new ways to find their imaginary transphobes.

            Trans comrades say it is true, and that they have watched a lot of their trans comrades leave the site because of mass downvotes and feeling unwelcome.

            If you are that bothered by it, then you need to learn to deal with it

            Systemic mass downvotes is not criticism or feedback, it's harassment. And, again, the trans people say this is what's happening, not feedback or whatever.
